What to Look for in a Wedding Photographer in Costa Rica
Hiring your photographer is one of the most important decisions you will make. Your photographer should be able to capture the essence of joy, love and beauty on your wedding day.
After reviewing web sites there should be a style that speaks to you. Each photographer has a different point of view. Decide what type of wedding photography coverage you are looking for.
• Do you like posed, formal images?
• Do you like "photojournalistic" coverage (photojournalistic involves photographing the day as it happens, with less emphasis on posed and formal photos)?
• Do you like photos of people where everyone is looking at the camera? Or, photos of people being themselves?
• Do you want to spend several hours posing and taking group photos with your photographer? Or, do you want photos of your event throughout the day?
Once you’ve decided on the style of the photographer you need to look at the packages. Some will bring a second shooter others offer additional add-ons, prints and/or a CD. You should feel comfortable with the pricing. The pricing varies on the experience, popularity, distance to the wedding, etc.
Shooting a wedding in Costa Rica presents opportunities to have your wedding day outside. The ceremony is usually an hour to an hour and a half before sunset. Having great camera and technical skills will allow the wedding photographer to capture properly exposed, well lit images regardless of the lighting situation and time constraints. Having great creative skills will allow the wedding photographer to approach each shot with a unique perspective and artistic vision ensuring that the shots are not just photos, but artistic imagery.
